Half Day (12:30pm-3:00pm)

Full Day (9:00am-3:00pm)

Key Ideas

  • Claude Monet

  • Watercolor

  • Clay

Why is it important?

  • Monet's art is a great way to teach kids about art, and how art is a very personal thing.

  • Through Monet's art we will teach our students to see beauty in all aspects of nature - the water, the flowers, the sky, the snow and the trees.

  • Watercolor project will help master the crucial skill of watching paint dry, and will teach when to apply more paint and how much water to use.

  • Watercolor offers the opportunity to consider ways of applying the paint, and the effect that layering paint has on the texture and color of a finished piece.

  • Clay stimulates the child's curiosity, encourages experimentation, and allows them to create 3-dimensional objects
